The colors of the painting are bright as is the rooster’s call. The flowers— anthuriums— turn into hearts, signifying the power of God’s love. The rooster is also a symbol of conscience, as we are reminded of how St. Peter was awakened by its call, reflected on his failings, and was redeemed. The day offers us the possibilities to renew ourselves and to help others.
